2026 Triennial Assesment
June 2026
Our district takes pride in supporting the needs of the whole child, and to ensure that all children are safe, supported, engaged, and challenged each school day. Research indicates that initiatives focused on improving aspects of students’ well-being in schools, such as addressing childhood obesity, preventing bullying, supporting students mental health, and restricting use of exclusionary discipline, have been found to be successful in improving student success and academic excellence. We have assessed our wellness policy as part of the USDA requirements. Below are the results of our assessment.
Step #1- During the review of the district’s Wellness Policy (LWP) a comparison was done using the Alliance for a Healthier Generation 10-step Checklist. The LWP’s strengths and opportunities for improvement can be found at the following link Step 1 Model Wellness Policy Comparison Results.
Step #2- The District is compliant at all three schools in regards to the Nutrition Education Goal/Nutrition Promotion Goals, Physical Activity Goal and Student/School Wellness Goal. The following link will provide more information regarding Step 2 Progress Toward LWP Goals/Compliance.
Step #3- The district is compliant for all the wellness goals and will continue to work towards fulfilling these goals and guidelines each school year. Step 3 Triennial Assessment Policy Public Report.
The School Wellness Policy #5052 is reviewed every three years during a School Board meeting. The public is welcome to attend the meeting and provide input on the Wellness Policy during that time. The public is notified of School Board meetings via postings at the courthouse, city hall and the central office along with a notice in the local newspaper. Agendas for the meetings are posted on the school’s website under the District tab. Parents and community members can also reach out to any school office to discuss the policy with administration at any time.
The School Wellness Policy was reviewed during the School Board meeting on June 15, 2026 with no updates being made.
